BRIEF
To create a high-end, luxury residential interior for a private client, offering the comfort of a family home while achieving the sophistication and refinement of a boutique hotel. As a rare private commission for Studio Two, the project represented an opportunity to translate our hospitality expertise into a personal, family setting. The client, a family of four, entrusted us with complete creative freedom following previous collaborations on commercial schemes.
CONCEPT
The design concept celebrates the duality between heritage and modernity. Set within a listed coach house, the scheme was shaped by the architectural transformation led by E3 Architecture, a thoughtful balance between historical preservation and innovative contemporary living. This dialogue between old and new became the heart of the concept: a narrative of timeless luxury, where the classic character of the building meets the refined elegance of modern design. A layered material palette, subtle symmetry, and curated lighting compositions evoke the atmosphere of an intimate, high-end hotel while maintaining the warmth and functionality required for family life.
DESIGN
The design embraces the building’s original proportions and craftsmanship, enriching them with bespoke interventions that elevate the everyday experience. Each room features carefully designed joinery and bespoke furniture, crafted to enhance both aesthetics and practicality. Lighting design plays a pivotal role, sculpting mood and accentuating textures, from softly washed walls to rich timber finishes. The palette balances warm neutrals, deep tones, and refined metallics, bringing together a sense of comfort and quiet sophistication. Throughout, the interplay between classic detailing and contemporary expression defines a home that feels both enduringly elegant and effortlessly liveable, a true reflection of trust, collaboration, and design freedom.
